Wonderful Read! The parallels to current events make this an enjoyable read. Connecting the dots with the money...always follow the money! I can see the screen play being developed once Hollywood realizes that they have been tricked by the green movement. Action brought directly to what many find a dry subject....measuring the temperature! Cheers!
I have just finished reading what I can only describe as the most gripping novel I have read in years. The pace of the story ramps up continuously leaving me wanting more now that its over.
I can very much see this as a movie, not to sure who would play the protagonist as the author has created a unique but still heroic character.
I highly recommend reading it.
Great read for IT people since this method is used throughout the thriller for interaction among the characters. It describes how ivolved a theory can be and to what lengths a party will go to prove their theory. In this case the idea is global warming the and stealth required to keep the exposure from coming out. It is a fast read full of suspense.
A thoroughly enjoyable read due to its gritty, yet likeable, characters and well drawn settings. The book is an adventure with pace, complete with gadgets and sabotage. Its originality lies in its challenge to the dominant paradigm regarding climate change. In that, it is well researched and poses some thought provoking questions. On an environmental level anomalies within this paradigm need to be addressed. On an entertainment level, this is what gives the book much of its unpredictability.
This was a well researched page turner that I (normally a slow reader) could not put down. Aside from its fast moving action that has much dependence on the latest communications technology (as each side tries to outwit and second guess the other in a race against time played out largely in the quiet countryside of England's Norfolk and Nottinghamshire), what particularly held my interest was its topicality in relation to global climate change and its thought provoking challenge that what may appear to the 'true green' technology sometimes has more than a touch of murky 'brown' underneath. The mining and exploitation of rare earth minerals on which much of our green technology depends is both a case in point and central to the novel's plot that is given added topicality by the WTO (March 2014) ruling against China's self imposed limits on rare earth mineral exports (which China is appealing). Definitely a worthwhile read whatever your views in climate change!
A thriller that is fun about a serious subject. Among other things, it makes one wonder whether those who mocked Trump for calling global warming a Chinese hoax had seriously considered the matter.
Ripping yarn....held interest all the way.....good page turner and well researched.
Would recommend it as an enjoyable few evenings entertainment for anyone who like a good adventure story.
