Enjoyed reading and will probably reread.
Sorry Connie, but I just couldn't get into this book. Several times I actually put it down and walked away from it (EEP! That Never happens with Connie's books!). I am truly a fan of her writing, I have everything she has ever written. But I just felt like I was thrown into this whole story with no warning or no time to get to know then characters enough to care about them. I was so confused! Then i read someones post about how the story really began in the Christmas book. So I went back and reread that book. Yes it explained a lot. I will go back and reread this book again to see if makes a difference in how I feel about this book. I will add to the post when I finish it again.
Still love you Connie!!! I am rereading your entire series of books from the first for the probably 20th time! LOVE THEM!!
Connie has introduced us to Another strong heroine. I just hope her supporting cast starts to get better because she deserves better back up than she's getting so far! Thanks for writing so fast. Getting a number of great books done every year must be hard. I wasn't going to buy into this series, but I'm glad I did.
Disjointed plot and confusing story line. I normally enjoy Connie Suttle books but this one was not a winner. The Black Rose Sorceress books (her newest effort) must be her evolution as writer because this previous book was not good.
I wasn't sure if I would enjoy this book as it was a completely new book with no ties to other characters in any of Connie Suttles other books. I did enjoy this book and am looking forward to the next one. I would definitely recommend this book for a good read. Connie still has strong women and magical people in this book and I loved meeting them.
I have to say this book is harder to read than most of connies other books. Its not really all together till the end and then your left feeling like you got a placeholder not the real story. Its even more confusing since the real begining is in a short story in a christmas anthology she did. So sadly i cannot give higher than a 3 out of 5, just cant click with the main characters.
Action-packed and high speed from beginning to end, the start of this series already has me buying the next book. Although multiple perspectives can get a little hard to juggle, Suttle does a great job keeping them labeled so you know who/where the story line is coming from. The different pieces of the plot fit together seamlessly to create depth to the story from a 1st hand view you wouldn't otherwise get without the main character endlessly traveling back and forth.
Gotta run now. Book 2 is calling.
